Common Problems

The following is a list of common errors that you may have overlooked that is causing you difficulties using DC++.

You are constantly being kicked out of a hub:

- You are sharing mp3 files, sortware exe files, etc.  It depends on the rules of that certain hub you are trying to log into.  Often these things are dissallowed to prevent lawsuits.  They want to keep it "Live & Legal."

- Not sharing the minimum requirement of data

- Sometimes a hub has a rule that you cannot connect to a lot of hubs at once.  In this instance they may kick you out.

- The hub may have a rule on how many minimum or maximum "slots" you must have open.  A slot is a window from which another hub user can access your file list and start downloads from you.  I find most times, you must have 2 open slots.

Cannot log into a hub:

- Need to register and log in

- Address may have changed

- Not sharing enough data

The "refused by target machine" error:

- the hub program is not currently running on the host's PC....or the PC may be off for that matter.  I find most hubs run 24/7, 365 days a year.

Things that can get you permanently banned from a hub:

- using inappropriate behavior and language.

- Sharing copyrighted works (audio, video, etc)

- Attempting to distribute viruses or harmful software

- Spamming other users.
