The Complete Tourography

Here it is...the most complete Flaming Lips tourography on the world wide web.  This is here so you can verify old dates as well as find out where they will be next.  Some dates will be hyperlinks (underlined) and if you click on it you can view gig posters, the setlist, photos, if it was bootlegged, the tour's name, etc from that show.  This tourography also includes tour information of other Flaming Lips members as they participate in other bands on tour (such as Sparklehorse, Beck or Steve Burns).  Please help us keep this accurate and up to date by e-mailing us with any information you have on past or present tour information.

The Last Poets-reportedly performed one song, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," before the Beastie Boys set in Las Vegas. (according to the Last Poet homepage, they played 13 dates in '94.)
Courtney Love-By herself, played "Miss World" and "Doll Parts" acoustically before Smashing Pumpkins' set in Philadelphia. Also played 2 songs in NYC on Aug 5.
The Breeders often had Robert Pollard from Guided By Voices on stage with them, and the Beastie Boys had countless guest rappers with them.

Nirvana-Were set to headline the tour before Kurt Cobain's suicide attempt in Rome and later successful suicide and discovery of his body in Seattle on April 8 1994. I remember reading in the newspaper, the day the news of his death came out, an article where the line up was formally announced, and they mentioned that Nirvana could not be confirmed at that point (the news of the death was too late in the day to make the paper that morning.) Actually pulled out before the suicide.
Johnny Cash-Everyone seemed to think he was going to do it, but they apparently never got around to asking him...D'Arcy of the Smashing Pumpkins, in the free Lollapalooza tour magazine/guide Teeth, even listed as one of her Top Ten Tour Distractions "7) Try to convince Johnny Cash to do a sing-along."
Porno For Pyros (were going to be playing on a special "acoustic stage" (this was also where Johnny Cash would play.))
Pavement (according to some sources, including from the band, Smashing Pumpkins had them blacklisted from the tour after the became the headliners because of the reference to SP in Pavement's song from Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, "Range Life"...of course, there's a good chance the band started the rumor themselves. Billy Corgan of the Pumpkins denied involvement in this in a recent Rolling Stone interview...were to have played the 2nd stage)
The Stones Roses
Primal Scream
Revolting Cocks
Sonic Youth (touted as possible headliners)
Faith No More
The Lemonheads
Beck
Possum Dixon
Bjork
Quicksand
Bufalo Tom
The Orb (were planned to play an all night rave at the site of each performance for everyone who came to the concert)
Slant 6
Bikini Kill
Spinanes
Fluf
Dink
